Associations and Foundations

  • Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB) is a professional and scientific organization that has for 30 years championed the field of biofeedback. AAPB has produced countless scientific articles in its affiliated peer-journal, Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, and in numerous other publications. 

  • The Biofeedback Foundation of Europe (BFE) was founded to promote a greater awareness of biofeedback among European health professionals and, through training workshops, educate clinicians in the use of biofeedback techniques and technology. The BFE advisory board comprises leading clinicians and researchers from multiple disciplines who share a common interest in the dissemination of information about this rapidly growing field.

  • The Behavioral Medicine Research and Training Foundation is a non-profit organization providing continuing education courses in behavioral medicine (biofeedback) to licensed/certified clinicians in fields such as medicine, psychology/counseling, physical and occupational therapy, and social work. Dr. Richard Sherman leads a renowned staff in promoting education in biofeedback via online courses and in clinical training.

  • The International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (iSNR) is an international membership organization of people from various professional disciplines doing neurotherapy,  neurofeedback training and research. iSNR supports education and excellence in the field of neurofeedback training and neurotherapy and seeks the validation and acceptance of this discipline by a broad spectrum of society.

Neurofeedback and Biofeedback Training

  • The Brian Othmer Foundation's primary focus is to promote awareness among the public and among health professionals of the power of the self-regulation remedy in general and of neurofeedback in particular. They promote understanding of neurofeedback among the health professions outside of the neurofeedback field, to build support for its widespread application. "Our path has always been to educate the world about neurofeedback, and to bring help to the many people whose lives can be improved with neurofeedback."

  • EEG Spectrum International Inc. is the largest and most experienced EEG biofeedback clinical service delivery organization in the world. Drawing on their unique mix of clinical, technical, and scientific experience and from a vast database of over 40,000 EEG biofeedback sessions, they have trained more than a 1,800 mental health professionals since 1990. EEG Spectrum presents the emerging field from a perspective well-grounded in clinical phenomenology, but it is also based on a neurophysiological model of efficacy originally proposed by M. Barry Sterman, Ph.D., and recently augmented by Andrew Abarbanel, M.D.

  • Stens Corporation was established in 1978, and is the recognized leader in providing comprehensive biofeedback training and equipment for professionals. Stens offers both Professional Certificate Programs and a variety of workshops that are offered free of charge with the purchase of our biofeedback equipment. The programs are held in various locations throughout the United States during the year, and offer hands-on training and education by some of the fields leading educators and practitioners.

  • New Mind Neurofeedback offers two web courses in neurofeedback. The two courses; the Beginners Neurofeedback Course (24 hours) and the EEG Biofeedback Course (40 hours), have didactic hours that can be applied toward BCIA certification. These programs are truly web based and each participant will have an opportunity to complete the course material at a time and pace that is convenient for him or her.
